Bio

Lara Habib Kobeissi is an award-winning British-Lebanese artist whose interdisciplinary practice shifts between guided encounters and open participation. She stages live extended-reality experiences through presence, play and interaction, which are felt. Co-winner of NewImages’ Grand Prix and Impact Awards, her live VR performance ‘Nazar’ has been showcased at the V&A, Shubbak, Sursock Museum, D-CAF and Embodied Realms.

As an XR artist and creative technologist, Lara has contributed to projects at the intersection of archival research and emerging technology including StoryFuture’s ‘StoryTrails’ and Studio ANRK’s ‘There Exists’. As a mentor, she has worked with organisations such as B3 Media and Play Office to design and deliver international programs helping creatives incorporate XR and gaming tools into their practices. She is currently lead artist and developer on ‘Ursula‘, a BFI funded animated interactive VR documentary exploring women’s healthcare and lived experience with endometriosis.
